The post-apocalyptic

Questioning the limits of civilization and technology.

Australian director George Miller is best known for his work on the Mad Max saga, a series of post-apocalyptic films that align perfectly with the central theme of my site.

Exploring the demise of technology and the resulting chaos, his films depict a world where humanity tries to survive in a hostile and devastated environment.

Creator of a Post-Apocalyptic World

George Miller made cinema history with the first Mad Max in 1979, followed by several sequels, including the acclaimed Mad Max : Fury Road in 2015.

The latter was acclaimed for its unique vision of a future where natural resources are scarce, and survivors fight for water, fuel and dominance.

The world of Mad Max reflects a world deprived of modern technology, where infrastructure has collapsed and survival is at the centre of everything..

Technology, more of a Problem than a Solution

In Miller's films, technology, although present in the form of customised vehicles and cobbled-together weapons, has become more of a danger than a solution for the characters.

Humanity finds itself in a situation where it has to deal with the ruins of its own technological progress, a theme similar to that of my website.

What would happen if we lost all access to modern technology? George Miller's films offer us a dystopian version of this scenario, where conflict and survival replace civilised life.

A reflection on society

Miller's work is not just an exploration of technological collapse ; it is also a social critique.

The Mad Max films show how fragile humanity can be in the face of global catastrophe, and how destructively it can rebuild itself.

This theme resonates with my site, which questions the future of civilization in the absence of technology.

Mad Max may be an extreme vision, but it nevertheless encourages us to think about the consequences of our dependence on modern tools.

Film presentations

Mad Max (1979)

George Miller's first film, Mad Max (1979), introduces a post-apocalyptic world where violence and anarchy reign. Max, a former policeman, tries to survive in a war-torn desert. This cult film launched one of the most influential sagas of dystopian action films.

Mad Max 2 : The Road Warrior (1981)

The film continues Max's adventure in an even more brutal world. He must protect a community from raiders who covet their resources. The film has been praised for its spectacular action scenes and its exploration of survival in a technologically collapsed future.

Mad Max : Fury Road (2015)

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) reinvents the saga with a modern twist. In this acclaimed opus, Max and Furiosa fight for freedom in a universe where water and gasoline have become scarce commodities, reflecting themes of technological and ecological collapse.
